2025-2026 Safe and Inclusive School Plan
Our school is committed to providing all students with a safe, caring, and inclusive learning environment free from bullying and harassment that promotes respect, acceptance, and empathy.
Staff, students, parents and caregivers, and community partners will work together as a team to help make our school safe and welcoming for everyone.
The Safe and Inclusive School Plan highlights some of the key actions that our school community will put in place as part of our bullying prevention and intervention efforts.
Key Priorities and Goals
This year we are focusing on using consistent, school-wide strategies to support and de-escalate students when emotions are running high.
We are doing this because we believe that all students deserve a safe, supportive environment where everyone feels seen, heard, and respected — even in moments of challenge or distress.
Key Actions or Strategies
-
Teaching emotional regulation tools through classroom lessons and calming strategies for all students.
-
Establishing consistent school-wide responses when students become escalated, to ensure safety and support for everyone involved.
-
Creating calming spaces where students can pause, reset, and return to learning when ready.
Community and Home Connections
-
Ask your child about the strategies they use at school to calm down when they feel upset or frustrated.
-
Try creating a calming corner or quiet space at home with your child, using items like a soft blanket, stress ball, calm lighting or calming visuals.
